Some words get overused, for me I have a problem with saying "Monster" a lot in deer conversations. Do I use it too much? Yes, sometimes it's the only way to describe the bucks that I get to photograph for a living. The word especially describes the bucks that go on the pages of our calendar. See this definition:

a. An imaginary or legendary creature, such as a centaur or Harpy, that combines parts from various animal or human forms.

b. A creature having a strange or frightening appearance.

2. An animal, a plant, or other organism having structural defects or deformities.

3. Pathology A fetus or an infant that is grotesquely abnormal and usually not viable.

4. A very large animal, plant, or object.

5. One who inspires horror or disgust: a monster of selfishness.

Informal Extremely large; monstrous: a monster hit at the box office; ate a monster steak.

As you can see by the yellow highlighted words, there are many descriptors that apply to these bucks, especially that cover buck, can you see where legendary creature, A very large animal, Extremely large apply to him? How about freak, leviathan and mutant?
